Financial Director

Overview

A global manufacturing organization is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee multiple finance and accounting functions within a complex, regulated operating environment. This role provides leadership to managers and professional staff while partnering closely with operations and senior leadership to ensure strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and informed business decisions.

This position is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational execution.

• Lead and develop multiple finance and accounting teams, including manager-level direct reports
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and financial reporting
• Establish and maintain internal controls related to assets, capital investments, costs, and liquidity
• Partner with operations, HR, IT, and leadership on budgeting, ROI analysis, and strategic initiatives
• Prepare for and manage internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Analyze financial performance, margins, operating costs, and key metrics to support leadership decision-making
• Provide financial insights and summaries to senior leadership and general management
• Own hiring, performance management, and talent development for the finance organization (in partnership with HR)

• 8–10+ years of progressive experience in finance and/or accounting
• Proven people leadership experience

• Experience in manufacturing, defense, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required)
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP and financial systems experience preferred
