Overview

Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is recruiting a Medical Director of the Pediatric Movement Disorders Program. This individual will be responsible for the comprehensive operations of the Program to support the mission of the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital including education, clinical services, research, outreach, other scholarly activities, and advocacy. The Medical Director will lead the program in conjunction with a team of physicians, APPs, nurses, MAs, as well as other support staff.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief of Neurology, the Medical Director of the Pediatric Movement Disorders Program will be expected to an atmosphere conducive to excellence in faculty, APPs, nursing, MAs and support staff development; clinical care; education of support staff, physicians, nursing, residents and fellows; and foster clinical research. This individual is also responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary Movement Disorders, DBS (surgical movement disorder clinic), Cerebral Palsy, Tourette Syndrome and follow up clinics.

Qualifications

Requirements include board certification in neurology with special qualifications in child neurology and fellowship training in movement disorders, or special interest in movement disorders (for non-fellowship trained demonstrable >10 years’ experience specifically in diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders).

Members of the faculty participate in the education of adult neurology, and pediatrics residents and fellows.

The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Child Neurology Residency Program is an innovative five-year, ACGME-accredited program, designed to train the next generation of pediatric neurologists.

Salary & Academic Appointment

Salary is highly market competitive. Qualified candidates are eligible for an academic appointment at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (academic rank is open and commensurate with experience). An interest in research would be strongly supported.
