Crawford Implant & Laser Periodontics, two doctor, private, patient-centered periodontal and implant specialty practice seeking a skilled and motivated Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. Our practice values excellent customer service, attention to detail, and quality dentistry. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, a positive attitude, honest and strong communication skills to support both the doctor and patients throughout their treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the periodontist during periodontal, implant, and surgical procedures, ensuring optimal efficiency and patient comfort.
  • Perform expanded functions duties as permitted by state law, digital scans other delegated tasks.
  • Prepare treatment rooms with appropriate instruments, materials, and technology for surgical and restorative procedures.
  • Take high-quality radiographs and intraoral images along with CBCT prior to implant placement and during healing phase.
  • Maintain strict infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Document treatment notes accurately in Dentrix and assist with digital charting.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative instructions and support to patients with empathy and clarity.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of clinical supplies and ensure operatory readiness.
  • Educate patients on oral health, implant care, and post-surgical recovery.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinical team members to ensure seamless scheduling and care coordination.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that reflects the practice’s values of compassion, professionalism, and excellence in dentistry.
Qualifications
  • Active Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification/license (state-specific).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in periodontal, surgical, or implant dentistry preferred.
  • Proficiency with Dentrix software (required).
  • Strong computer skills
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong understanding of infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Full time position, Tuesday - Friday approximately 35-40 hrs per week. 7:40am - 5:15pm.
