Job DescriptionPosition Overview
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management Lead to manage high-value contracts for services, equipment, and materials within a regulated energy and infrastructure environment. This role is accountable for end-to-end contract management, strategic sourcing execution, supplier performance, and compliance with supply chain policies. The ideal candidate brings strong sourcing and negotiation expertise, the ability to work independently on complex initiatives, and experience supporting large capital projects, outages, or engineered equipment procurement.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Management & Compliance
- Lead contract management activities for services, equipment supply, and materials.
- Review, interpret, and enforce commercial and non-commercial contract terms.
- Ensure vendor compliance with contractual obligations, deliverables, and supply chain policies.
- Manage contract provisions, amendments, and change orders in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop and monitor supplier performance metrics.
- Strategic Sourcing
- Assess sourcing opportunities, internal supply chains, and external supply markets.
- Develop, execute, and institutionalize sourcing strategies for complex, high-value categories.
- Support enterprise-wide and regional sourcing initiatives.
- Prepare RFQs/RFPs, evaluate supplier proposals, and recommend award strategies.
- Negotiation & Cost Management
- Lead negotiations with supplier and manufacturer management.
- Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and process efficiencies.
- Apply strong business and financial acumen to sourcing decisions.
- Manage supplier relationships at a strategic level post-award.
- Oversee supplier issues including claims, disputes, settlements, pricing changes, and invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain purchase orders and agreements through their full lifecycle.
- Project & Stakeholder Support
- Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to support capital projects, equipment bid events, and purchase order contracts.
- Manage Master Service Agreements, Alliance Agreements, and category management initiatives.
- Participate in change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of sourcing strategies.
- Market & Industry Expertise
- Monitor commodity trends, supply market conditions, and diversity sourcing opportunities.
- Maintain technical awareness of power plant or industrial equipment relevant to assigned categories.
5–10 years of related experience in Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, or Contract Management
Preferred Qualifications- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Experience supporting capital projects, outages, or major infrastructure initiatives
- Experience sourcing engineered or industrial equipment
- Strong contract negotiation and contract administration experience
- Demonstrated business, financial, and cost analysis skills
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with e-sourcing tools and ERP systems (e.g., Power Advocate, Maximo, CAS)
- Technical knowledge of industrial or power plant equipment
- Operational excellence mindset
This role follows a hybrid work model, with work performed both remotely and onsite (three days per week) after the onboarding period. Candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned office location. Occasional visits to operational or plant sites are required.
