Overview

Job Title:
Benefits Specialist

Provide a broad range of Benefits/HR administrative support in the operation of Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, Well-being, COBRA/HIPAA, Financial & Retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits. You will inherit new initiatives from an operational perspective that align with business objectives and strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Support the administration of employee healthcare benefit programs, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Pharmacy, Section 125 plans, Qualified Life Events, and Financial & Retirement plans.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs while providing timely support and guidance to employees and managers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of benefits operations by supporting workflow optimization, system updates, and the maintenance of plan documents.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing the annual benefits open enrollment process, including system readiness, communications, vendor collaboration, and issue resolution.
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers, brokers, and consultants to support day-to-day administration of all benefits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and resolve issues by coordinating with internal departments such as Payroll and Legal, and benefit vendors.
  • Perform daily administration functions to support the administration of the benefits programs, including file feed transfers, statistical reporting, enrollment elections and changes for new hires and leave of absence employees, beneficiary changes, and Qualified Medical Support Orders (QMSO).
  • Prepare and submit audits and payments of invoices to external vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Participate in status/planning meetings, implementation of enhancements, and problem resolutions to maintain relationships with vendors.
Essential Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare and Section 125 plans.
  • 5 years of experience in benefits administration or HR.
  • Familiarity with benefits compliance and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, Microsoft Office, Oracle, and preferably bswift.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with solid analytical and time management abilities.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with benefit verification, customer service, medical, COBRA, and open enrollment.
  • Proficiency in using a ticketing system and MS Excel.
Work Environment

Work from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role requires coordination with internal departments and external vendors to ensure efficient benefits administration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Petersburg, FL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.59 - $24.59/hr.
