Overview

The Controller will be responsible for the full accounting cycle, month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis for multiple entities. This role requires a strong leader who thrives in a small team environment, is highly proficient in Excel, and has experience managing complex accounting operations across multiple business units.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily accounting operations and lead a small team of 2–4 professionals.
  • Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare consolidated and entity-level financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain budgets and forecasts across multiple entities.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are followed across all entities.
  • Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in reporting and accounting operations.
  • Act as a liaison with external auditors and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • 5–7 years of accounting experience, including hands-on Controller or senior accounting roles.
  • Experience managing a small accounting team.
  • Strong experience working with multi-entity companies and consolidations.
  • Full-cycle accounting experience required.
  • Expert-level Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, Quick Books, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
