Reinsurance Accountant – St. Petersburg, FL

Fin Trust Connect has partnered with a well-capitalized insurance institution that is seeking a skilled Reinsurance Accountant to support its growing accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with solid experience in general and reinsurance accounting who are looking to deepen their expertise in statutory reporting and financial analysis. • Function: Handle reinsurance accounting, settlements, reconciliations, and reporting across various agreement types

• A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
• At least 2 years of reinsurance or insurance-specific accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Proficiency in Excel and general ledger systems
• Familiarity with GAAP; SAP exposure preferred
• Experience with Schedule F reporting is a strong plus

• Prepare and post monthly reinsurance premiums, losses, and settlements
• Reconcile reinsurance accounts and cash receipts with detailed accuracy
• Collaborate with brokers, reinsurers, and internal departments (Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial)
• Assist in audit support, internal controls, and year-end collateral processes
• Interpret reinsurance contracts for appropriate accounting treatment
• Enhance reinsurance accounting workflows for efficiency and compliance
