The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies to drive process and product improvements. These improvements will support increased OEE, reduced waste, and enhance Gross Margin (GM) among other key strategic initiatives. This position will identify, develop, and execute GM enhancement, kaizen, and 5S initiatives at the plant. The individual will lead cross-functional project teams.
The individual will model and map processes in order to identify constraints to be elevated and waste to be eliminated. The individual will also provide mentoring, coaching and training at the shop floor level to support the use of the continuous improvement methodologies and tools (data collection, visual management, center-lining, preventative & predictive maintenance, rapid changeovers (SMED) and troubleshooting (RCA/ PCS)).
responsibilities
- Work with production leadership to define and prioritize process documentation requirements
- Coach and support individuals to successfully complete GM enhancement projects, kaizen, and 5S events.
- Lead complex, high return kaizen events and GM enhancement projects.
- Partner with cross-functional teams in identifying and selecting Lean Projects/Kaizen Events that are aligned to key business priorities.
- Act as a change agent, systematically driving use of Theory of Constraints, Waste Identification and Elimination, and RCA/PCS for continuous improvement and change throughout the plant.
- Monitor and report on the Lean programs, 5S and Kaizen event progress of the plant.
- Develop and apply necessary lean and technical skills to deliver improvement results. Example includes Six Sigma problem solving
- Performs other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
- 4 year Engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Industrial.
- Strong AutoCAD/Solid Works, Excel, Minitab, Process Mapping, and Access (SQL Crystal Reports) skills desired
- Proven experience in leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Formal Project Management Skills from concept to implementation and support.
- Effective Team Dynamics Skills.
- Quality Control Plan, related SOP's and Work Instructions.
- Applicable Safety Rules & Regulations.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- This role is not currently sponsoring visas or considering international movement.

US pay transparencyThe base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
