The Vending Support Specialist (VMI Specialist) is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting industrial vending and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems for our customers. The role blends technical support, customer service/inside sales, inventory management, and coordination with sales and operations teams to ensure vending programs improve efficiency and strengthen customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Install, program, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial vending machines for cutting tools, MRO, safety, and industrial products.
- Coordinate machine setup, product selection, bin configuration, and inventory levels with sales and operations.
- Monitor inventory remotely via machine data and perform onsite replenishment as needed.
- Respond to customer calls, emails, and service tickets promptly and professionally.
- Process orders, prepare shipments, and handle receiving and stocking activities.
- Support outside sales and act as a liaison between customers, internal teams, and manufacturers.
- Work with ERP (Epicor Prophet 21) and vending systems (Auto Crib, Matrix, Crib Master, others) for order processing and analysis
- 2+ years in industrial distribution, vending systems, or related field preferred
- Experience with MRO, safety, cutting tools, abrasives, or industrial supplies is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
- Familiarity with vending software and automated inventory tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
- Basic networking or IT troubleshooting skills helpful
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
- High School Diploma
- Willingness to participate in training and work overtime when needed
- Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
