Position: Inpatient Pharmacy Tech 3

Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation’s top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The pharmacy staff works with inpatient and outpatient care, in central or satellite locations, using state-of-the-art technologies and an integrated practice model. This role is in oncology infusion and will provide training in sterile and non-sterile compounding to serve cancer patients.

Position is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm and benefits eligible.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; ensures regulatory cleanliness.
  • Assists in the preparation of medication orders, including workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Supports inventory activities including storage, ordering, rotation, beyond-use dating, and cleanliness.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for a task, function, or area of specialty, including training, system maintenance, inventory management, and workflow improvement; uses electronic/automated systems.
  • Pursues proficiency in complex sterile compound preparation and additional responsibilities as applicable.
  • Performs multiple technician responsibilities across the pharmacy or focuses on a specific area such as sterile/non-sterile compounding, quality inspections, repackaging, and process/policy improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:
    High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2–5 years
  • Supervisor Experience:
    No Experience
Licenses & Certifications
  • State Board Pharmacy Registration
  • Pharmacy Tech Certification
Preferred Requirements
  • 5–10 years
