Housekeeping Supervisor - The Hotel Zamora

The Hotel Zamora is a boutique hotel located in St. Pete Beach, FL, and is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to lead housekeeping operations. The hotel is under new ownership and management by Sherman Associates, a proven real estate development and management company. With stunning views of the Intracoastal Waterway and Gulf of Mexico, The Hotel Zamora provides a luxurious retreat for guests, featuring a Rooftop Lounge, a Sidewalk Restaurant, private dining, and meeting/banquet spaces.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, manage and monitor performance; recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Inspect all assigned guest rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens and public spaces are clean, in good repair and meet guest expectations.
  • Monitor commercial laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.
  • Assist with training of employees, ensuring they have the tools and equipment needed to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist with scheduling and room‑cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning guest rooms and hotel public spaces, to ensure guest satisfaction and owner expectations.
  • Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to complete inventory and maintain par levels for linen and room supplies.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • Work as a team player and interact with all internal and external customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Ensure all guests are treated in a manner that ensures their complete satisfaction.
  • Always strive to exceed guests’ expectations and meet brand standards.
  • Produce required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing duties.
  • Adhere to Sherman Associates attendance, grooming, appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all procedures for guests and employee incidents and being knowledgeable about hotel emergency procedures.
  • Attend all required department and hotel meetings.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Supervise, coach, direct, train and evaluate staff; prepare and conduct employee reviews and complete time‑card approvals.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years housekeeping experience with at least 6 months in a supervisory or managerial role.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Reading and writing abilities for task documentation, supply ordering, receiving instructions and safety manuals.
  • Effective communication in a multilingual workplace environment.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance.
  • Passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates.
  • Ability to comply with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
Work Environment
  • Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme conditions at construction sites.
  • Work occurs in loud noise environments.
  • Exposure or handling of biological substances such as blood, urine, and vomit.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach other hotel departments within reasonable time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and to push and pull carts and equipment up to 200 lbs. regularly.
  • Required kneeling, squatting, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Manual dexterity to use and operate necessary equipment.
