Position Overview
Head Boys' Varsity Golf Coach – Seasonal, Athletics – Upper School Athletics, March 2026 – June 2026. Salary range $5,000 – $6,000 based on experience.
About the SchoolSt. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non‑sectarian college‑preparatory day school serving more than 920 students from Prekindergarten through grade 12. SPA operates three campuses located a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota:
Goodrich Campus (K‑5), Randolph Campus (6‑12), and a Prekindergarten campus on St. Catherine’s University. Our mission – shaping the minds and hearts of the people who will change the world – inspires us to be thoughtful, respectful, and ambitious in all we do.
- Ensure the Boys Golf culture reflects the “Spartan Way” – Integrity, Excellence, and Passion, and that the student athletes reflect SPA athletics values.
- Create a positive environment that promotes team excellence – “We Before Me.”
- Support the US and MS Athletic Directors to build a coaching staff of qualified coaches, mentoring them in SPA traditions.
- Implement well‑organized and structured practices.
- Coordinate competition schedules with the US Athletics Director.
- Work with the athletics operations coordinator in scheduling transportation.
- Maintain accurate records and other required administrative work (rosters, schedules, physicals, results, records, equipment, and individual and team accolades).
- Provide effective communication with, supervision, and evaluation of all athletes.
- Support graduating players in the college athletics search process.
- Build rapport with the greater community, generate interest in the program, and recognize the contributions of all, impressing upon the athletes and parents that their efforts are valued while creating a positive team culture.
- Participate as a positive team member in the Athletics Department, supporting program excellence and development.
Candidates must demonstrate strong, effective organizational and communication skills with students, parents, and administration. A qualified candidate should have experience coaching in a competitive environment and in a state association like the MSHSL. Candidates should support SPA’s mission and be able to contribute to student‑athlete life outside athletics.
