Installation Upfit Technician – Electrical Wiring & Hydraulics

The Installation Production Technician is responsible for up‑fitting and customizing utility trucks and truck‑mounted equipment to CTOS specifications. This role involves installing, modifying, and enhancing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to prepare vehicles for customer and industry‑specific use. You will work hands‑on with chassis, bodies, and equipment such as buckets, diggers, aerials, and related components while following CTOS quality and safety standards.

• Install, remove, and modify truck bodies and mounted equipment
• Perform chassis preparation, bolting, welding, hydraulic plumbing, and electrical wiring
• Modify truck wheelbases and install or remove suspension components as required
• Install and troubleshoot 12‑volt electrical systems, including lighting, controls, and power accessories
• Read and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, hydraulic diagrams, and installation instructions
• Route wiring harnesses along frame rails and between drive axles
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area to ensure a safe and efficient shop environment
• Work efficiently in a fast‑paced production setting

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience with 12‑volt electrical systems, including multiplex wiring
• General knowledge of electrical components such as switches, relays, fuses, circuit breakers, diodes, and resistors
• Experience with hydraulics, vehicle assembly, welding, and general mechanics is highly preferred

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Basic computer navigation and software skills
