Position OverviewThe Inside Sales Business Development Representative I (ISBDR) plays a key role in driving profitable growth by identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities. This position partners closely with Account Managers to advance opportunities and close new business while positioning H.B. Fuller as a trusted solutions partner.
The ISBDR engages prospective customers through proactive outbound calling and digital communication, applying consultative selling techniques to uncover needs and align them with H.B. Fuller s product and service offerings.
Primary Responsibilities- Execute a consistent outbound call strategy, averaging 40-50 calls per day to identify and qualify new business opportunities
- Conduct telephone-based customer meetings to meet established activity and performance targets
- Engage customers in value-based discussions to understand operational needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Partner with Account Managers to progress opportunities and support successful business closure
- Ensure H.B. Fuller is viewed as a strategic partner through professional sales representation and excellent customer service
- Influence and align internal and external decision makers and key stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Accurately document customer interactions, activities, and opportunities in (SFDC)
- Identify and develop new opportunities through cold calling, market research, lead sourcing, and Linked In
- Determine customer requirements and expectations through effective verbal and written communication
- Identify decision makers and influencers and develop strong professional relationships
- Create, update, and manage sales opportunities in SFDC in alignment with the defined sales process
- Bachelor s degree in a technical, mechanical, or marketing discipline, or equivalent experience
- 2-3 years of professional sales experience focused on new business development
- Experience selling multiple technical product lines or product families preferred
- Prior experience in the industrial chemical industry is a plus
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills
- High level of energy, resilience, and persistence in a high-volume sales environment
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to add value through consultative selling
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented sales environment
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 + Incentive Plan.
