Nurse Practitioner - General Surgery

Overview

Fairview is seeking a General Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join the General Surgery team in the East region. In this role, you will work independently in a supportive team setting at both M Health Fairview St. John’s in Maplewood and M Health Fairview Woodwinds in Woodbury, MN, and associated locations. You will work closely with a well-established community General Surgery group and an experienced group of Advanced Practice Providers (APP), caring for patients with a diverse range of general, breast, surgical oncology, reflux, abdominal wall reconstruction, colon surgery and bariatric disorders.

• Surgical patient care for a wide variety of conditions such as breast, oncologic, colon, foregut, complex hernia, endocrine, and bariatric in addition to general surgery
• Outpatient care for post-operative patients, and non-operative patient procedural needs
• Inpatient care including:
  Admissions and consults, daily rounding, operative assist, and discharge planning and education
• Leadership within the multi-professional team caring for your patients and within the provider group

• 1.0 FTE
• Monday – Friday with rotating weekends; hours dependent on patient care needs

• Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited Adult/Gero or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training program
• BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC
• Licensed or ability to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
• Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
• Ability to obtain ATLS within 6 months of hire
• 2 years experience in a Surgical practice as an NP is preferred

The posted pay range is for a 1.0 FTE. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
