The Individual Giving Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening Little Free Library’s base of individual donor support. This position is responsible for planning and executing all aspects of individual/annual giving, including multi‑channel appeals (direct mail and email), giving days, special campaigns, and donor stewardship activities. The Individual Giving Coordinator also cultivates ongoing donor relationships and provides some administrative support for Team LFL, LFL’s community engagement program.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager who is passionate about inspiring people to give, engaging donors meaningfully, and ensuring a positive donor experience at every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities Annual Giving and Appeals
  • Plan, write, and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail and email appeals.
  • Collaborate with communications staff to ensure donor messaging is consistent, compelling, and mission‑driven.
  • Analyze results of appeals and campaigns to improve future performance.
Giving Days and Special Campaigns
  • Coordinate participation in giving days (e.g., LFL Week, Giving Tuesday) and other special fundraising events.
  • Develop tailored mini‑campaigns or urgent appeals to engage donors throughout the year.
Donor Stewardship and Cultivation
  • Implement a year‑round stewardship plan to thank, recognize, and engage donors.
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgments, annual recognition report, impact updates, and personalized outreach.
  • Support donor cultivation activities, including small events, donor calls, and prospect research.
Team LFL Administration
  • Provide some administrative and logistical support for Team LFL, LFL’s community engagement program.
  • Develop a plan to cultivate, solicit, and steward Team LFL volunteers for monetary donations.
Strategy and Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Advancement to set goals for individual giving revenue and donor engagement.
  • Partner with colleagues across communications and programs to ensure donor stories and impact are shared effectively.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the organization’s CRM/database.
Skills and Characteristics to be Successful in this Position
  • Experience planning and running direct mail and email appeals, giving days, and donor campaigns.
  • Ability to craft compelling, donor‑centered messages that inspire action.
  • Skilled at balancing multiple campaigns, deadlines, and deliverables at once.
  • Knowledge of stewardship best practices, with a focus on building strong donor relationships.
  • Comfortable using donor databases and campaign metrics to track progress and improve results.
  • Able to work effectively across internal teams to execute campaigns and events.
  • Experience coordinating small donor events or engagement opportunities.
  • Always considers the donor experience and looks for ways to connect donors meaningfully with the mission.
  • Brings fresh ideas for campaigns, appeals, and stewardship strategies.
  • Produces polished, accurate communications and ensures no donor is overlooked.
  • Builds authentic relationships with donors, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable pivoting strategies to respond to donor needs or organizational priorities.
  • Brings energy, optimism, and persistence to the challenges of nonprofit fundraising.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but experience in sales, marketing, communications, or a related field is valued.
  • 2+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a focus on annual giving or individual donor programs.
  • Proven success planning and executing direct mail, email, or multi‑channel fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to inspire action through storytelling.
  • Experience with donor stewardship and cultivation strategies.
