Position Summary
The Salvation Army St. Paul Citadel is doing the most good by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; youth programming, and connections to community partners.
The Youth Development Assistant is responsible for assisting with youth programming and activities.
$15.97/hour, 20 hours/week

Essential Functions (Approximate time spent)- Assist with planning and leading youth programming, events, trips, and activities in various areas including spiritual, educational, recreational, and relational. (80%)
- Participate in Worship and Christian education programs including supporting leadership with planning and teaching. (10%)
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information. (5%)
- Assist with seasonal and special events. (5%)
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in youth programming, ministry, or social services is required.
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Senior Soldier in good standing preferred.
- Valid driver's license, meet MVR driver's qualifications and pass background checks.
- Flexible interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level of honor in dealing with confidential information.
- Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.
- Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, databases, and standard office equipment.
- Moderate physical work and must be able to lift 50 pounds required.
- Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
- Must be able to drive, sit, communicate clearly, and work in person or on the phone.
- Work hours will include evenings and occasional weekends

Driving/Travel RequirementsOccasional local driving using a personal vehicle or agency vehicle may be required. Rare overnight trips.
