Schedule: M-F 6am-3pm
Pay: $70k-$80k + Quarterly bonus
Summary
The Production Supervisor position is responsible for supervising production employees in the manufacturing and assembly environments. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements to production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Essential Functions
- Supervise and direct department operations for a team of production personnel regarding the production and shipping of components, subassemblies, and finished goods.
- Responsible for driving metrics and process improvements relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory.
- Establish schedules and capacity planning based on customer needs, product mix, equipment efficiency, and supply chain.
- Develop, implement, and reinforce operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems while improving product quality and process throughput.
- Provide leadership, direction, prioritization, and motivation to attain high levels of employee engagement, achievement, and retention.
- Work with Supply Chain to maintain proper inventory levels, investigate root cause of manufactured part shortages, and implement corrective actions and improved processes to eliminate future occurrences.
- Provide employee training, coaching, and development.
- Cross train employees in key areas to ensure customer needs can be met during times of peak demand or employee absenteeism.
- Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities/events to drive improvements, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
- Operate as a liaison between Production and Engineering to review and implement changes to processes.
- Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Enforce and hold employees accountable to company policies and procedures.
- Develop and recommend improvements of facilities and equipment.
- Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to manager.
- Manage employee time regarding punching in and out, absenteeism, and vacation/sick time.
- Attend meetings (Production, Engineering, Project Kickoff, Postmortem, etc.) with preparation to provide input and updates as required.
- Set target goals for output for each work center and track output to goals and implement improvements to achieve target goal.
- Lead and direct root cause investigations on internal and external quality concerns and manage the completion of Quality Notifications to include any assigned corrective action activities.
- Drive safety improvements and perform accident investigations and root cause/corrective action events.
- Assist with annual evaluation/performance reviews for team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned. (U.S. Only)
- Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent or relevant work experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with CNC Machinery, electromechanical assembly and/or electrostatics required where applicable.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, bill of materials (BOM) required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and influence a team.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and conflict management skills.
