Northern Iron Machine in St. Paul is looking for a CNC Machinist – 1st Shift.

- 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
- Mandatory overtime on Fridays as required by production needs
- Pay: $23–$28 per hour, depending on experience
- Operate CNC machining centers including mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines to produce iron cast components
- Load and unload parts, tools, and fixtures following established work instructions
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and process documentation
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools
- Monitor machining processes and make approved adjustments to maintain quality and tolerances
- Identify and report tool wear, nonconforming parts, or process issues
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering to support continuous improvement
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe workstations
- Accurately complete all production and inspection documentation
- Follow all safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures
- High school diploma or GED required (technical school or apprenticeship preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience in a production environment
- Experience machining iron or ferrous castings
- Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar
- Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T
- Proficient with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other precision tools
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Manufacturing environment with machine noise, metal dust, and iron chips
- Required use of appropriate PPE
- Schedule flexibility and overtime may be required based on production demands
