Program Supervisor – Viking / The Phoenix Residence, Inc.
Position
Purpose:
The Program Supervisor directly supervises Direct Support Professional staff, ensures proper implementation of The Phoenix Residence policies and procedures, and assists in the coordination and implementation of Coordinated Service and Support Plans / Individual Program Plans, including activities of daily living, community integration, socialization, and health management. The role serves as the program's Designated Coordinator or works with the designated QIDP in implementing and monitoring individual program plans.
This is an hourly position.
The Program Supervisor will spend 40-50 hours each pay period working the floor, filling in shifts when open, and completing manager work during the remaining 30-40 hours.
Responsibilities- Manage overall operation of one ICF home.
- Train, supervise, evaluate, and manage the House Supervisor and Direct Support Professional staff.
- Ensure 24‑hour coverage of the home and monitor services across multiple shifts.
- Maintain staffing levels per budgetary and safety guidelines.
- Guarantee appearance of house and grounds meets sanitation and infection control standards.
- Complete audits to oversee and monitor services.
- Perform, oversee, and train direct care duties for individuals living in the home.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized Program Plans, including staff training on implementation.
- Coordinate and facilitate individual meetings.
- Complete QIDP duties per regulatory requirements.
- Advocate for resident needs.
- Manage individuals’ finances per established procedures.
- Handle household operations (cooking, cleaning, laundry, stocking groceries, supplies).
- Identify and respond to individual emotional and social needs (excluding psychotherapy).
- Perform infection control tasks in Category II (potential exposure to blood, fluids, tissue).
- Adhere to safety policies; foster safe working environment.
- Follow lifting and transfer guidelines; train others in proper techniques.
- Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations of licensing agencies.
- Participate in fundraising efforts to ensure fiscal integrity (events, fundraisers, grants).
- Attend mandatory in‑services and meet training requirements.
- Take on extra projects, participate on at least one committee.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, staff, supervisors, families, interdisciplinary team, and other customers.
- Display cooperative, supportive, and positive conduct; serve as an effective role model.
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience or 4‑year BA/BS in related field (sociology, psychology, social services).
- Ability to assist with QIDP duties; QIDP preferred.
- CPR, First Aid, and Trained Medication Passer certification within 60 days.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; trained to drive company vehicles within 60 days.
- Flexible schedule; includes 44 hours of direct support care per pay period and may include weekends and holidays.
- 24‑hour on‑call coverage and respond to issues as necessary.
- Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills.
- English language proficiency reading, writing, speaking.
- Effective verbal and written communication; timely response to email.
- Visual and hearing ability for assessments.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 75 lbs (lifting objects and transferring individuals).
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, reach, push/pull wheelchairs.
- Respond to emergencies per procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Operate and maintain household, office, and facility equipment.
- Full‑time availability.
