The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.
This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.
The Associate General Counsel works in litigation and advises in the following substantive areas: data practices, employment law, comprehensive planning and land use, intergovernmental contracting, public contracts and procurement, construction law, open meeting law, environmental law, and real property law. Will advise on Council’s policies and procedures, MN Government Data Practices Act, and internal investigations.
- JD degree from a law school and seven or more years of recent experience in the practice of law.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota and in good standing.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
