Project

Summary:

The Northern Lights eBook will be introducing its 3rd edition in summer of 2026. The intern will assist in coordinating with eBook vendor and the sales team at MNHS to help with distributing the new eBook.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage digital licenses for districts subscribing to the Northern Lights eBook.
  • Coordinate with the sales team to ensure access for teachers and students.
  • Participate as needed in meetings related to the Northern Lights revision.
  • Support communication and project management with stakeholders, internal, and external partners.
  • Assist in troubleshooting eBook issues.
  • Knowledge Intern is Expected to Gain:
    • Experience managing digital accounts.
    • Knowledge of school technology systems, such as Clever and Class Link.
    • Opportunities to network with education professionals.
    • Experience working in the new MDE social studies standards, including new ethnic studies content standards and pedagogies.
    • Knowledge of digital publishing and distribution.
    Qualifications:
    • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or have graduated within the past 12 months at the time of application.
    • Ideal candidates might be currently pursuing, or have graduated with a degree in the following areas:
      Education, History, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Learning Technologies.
    • Knowledge of digital publishing or digital curriculum.
    • Knowledge of a variety of computer programs.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong ability to organize information.
    • Detail-oriented, thorough, and able to meet deadlines.
    • Related skills in any of the following: data management, technology applications, social studies content knowledge/experience, teaching experience (especially middle school), experience using the Northern Lights curriculum.
    Seminar Events:

    Interns are required to participate in three, in‑person seminars focused on professional development, learning how cultural organizations operate, and building a network of industry professionals. At the end of the semester, interns complete a final presentation to share their work.
