The Cyber Security Specialist performs duties across multiple areas of information technology, such as computer hardware, server software, networking, telecommunications, computer support, database analysis, data security, and other areas of the overall IT platform/infrastructure. Responsible for the stability, integrity, and operation of all systems by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software, hardware, and operating systems. They report system downtime and performance issues.
The Cyber Security Specialist will conduct analysis, including planning, designing, and evaluating a variety of information technology tools. This role will require collaboration with other data scientists and software engineers. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in , with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Implement and support cybersecurity standards to include NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) standards
- Assist with the development of system information assurance (IA) documentation to support RMF accreditation through the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
- Perform regular systems security scans and maintain records of such scans using tools such as STIGs, ACAS, CWE, CVE, and HBSS
- Respond to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) as necessary to address systems vulnerabilities
- Work with systems owners, government managers, and other stakeholders to manage cybersecurity requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Information Technology degree
- Experience working within an Agile Scrum software development team
- Familiarity with software develop practices for cloud infrastructures and environments (i.e., Containerization, Container Orchestration, CI/CD automation tools, and Infrastructure-as-Code)
- At least 2 years of experience in cyber security or related discipline.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Currently hold an active US security clearance or be able to obtain one
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- Information Systems Security Officer / Manager (ISSO / ISSM)
- Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level3 Certified
Hybrid work environment. In-person collaboration is required to support engagement with the software engineering team. In addition to in-office days, employees have the flexibility to telework (with supervisor approval) on designated days or as needed, provided they adhere to established communication protocols and fulfill their work responsibilities effectively. Additionally, travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites as well as other office locations.
ClearanceRequirements
Some positions will require access to U.S. National Security information. Positions that require this access will be required to receive and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL). In order to qualify for this position, the candidate must be a US Citizen and either currently possess this National Security eligibility or be able to complete the investigation application process with a favorable determination and maintain that eligibility throughout their employment.
