Overview
The Student Technical Support Assistant is responsible for assisting the IT Help Desk in managing and repairing university-owned hardware. This includes providing equipment to eligible employees of the campus community and troubleshooting issues with CSP-issued laptops, desktops, monitors, phones, software, and more.
This office works alongside the IT Help Desk, and as such, these students must be able to work in person at the St. Paul campus. The office hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM Central Time.
Responsibilities- Assist in assembling, repairing, installing, and maintaining technological equipment owned by the university.
- Respond to tickets assigned to the tech shop and direct larger issues to the appropriate teams via the ticketing system.
- Help maintain the Tech Shop’s inventory to provide an accurate record of CSP’s assets.
- Work in a physical office space located at the St. Paul campus during scheduled hours.
- Preferred IT troubleshooting experience.
- Preferred customer service experience.
- Preferred familiarity with Windows.
- Be enrolled and registered as a CSP student (PSEO students are not eligible).
- Have a United States social security number.*
- Be in good standing with CSP academic requirements and student accounts.
- Must have declared a major at CSP.
- For summer employment, priority will be given to the student employees who are enrolled and registered in summer courses.
