Position Overview
Ramsey County Information Services is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with enterprise‑level network design and management experience to support county infrastructure operations and strategy. The role involves LAN/WAN, data center networking, wireless platforms, and security infrastructure, ensuring high availability, peak performance, and robust security controls across all network services.
Responsibilities- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field.
- Experience: Six years of progressive server hardware and server‑based operating systems administration, including mobile and desktop applications or security administration, or data network and network device support.
- Substitution: Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Certifications/Licensure: None.
Flexible Workplace: This position is flex work eligible. Employees can opt to be in‑office full‑time or work a flex schedule with at least two days per week in office and other days remote‑first. The position carries on‑site responsibilities and requires schedule flexibility beyond the minimum expectations set forth in the county’s flexible workplace policy.
Veteran’s Preference: This is a classified position requiring an open, competitive selection process. Veteran’s preference points will be applied after a candidate passes the examination process. Applicants who are eligible for veteran’s preference should update their veteran’s DD‑214 and other supporting documents and submit them as an attachment at the time of application.
