Senior IT Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager will manage large and/or critical projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle, from initiation through closure. This position leads high-priority projects that require substantial resources and functional integration and ensures projects are completed in scope, quality, budget, and schedule.

This is a hybrid position; in-person attendance is expected to foster collaboration, innovation, and team connection. The preferred candidate is located within 50 miles of the Corporate Offices in either Mendota Heights, MN or Loveland, CO.

• Mentor project managers and project coordinators to ensure professional growth and successful project delivery.
• Stay current with project management best practices and methodologies to keep the company effective and efficient.
• Create, modify, and train team members on methodology processes and procedures.
• Create and update detailed project plans outlining specific tasks required for successful deployment.
• Assign tasks, manage progress to completion, and document variations from estimated costs.
• Follow established project methodology for planning and implementation, negotiate with department managers for necessary personnel, and manage software releases throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work with project sponsors and work groups to analyze information, document critical processes, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with various departments in creating and approving Statements of Work and other required documents.
• Identify risk areas, develop mitigation strategies, and implement actions. Conduct post‑mortems and produce lessons‑learned reports.
• Partner with business customers, third‑party vendors (participating in RFI/RFP processes, vendor selection), and Patterson staff to develop corrective action plans for issues arising during projects.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or a related field; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• At least 8 years of project management experience.
• Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies, and proven ability to develop successful collaborative relationships across diverse industries.
• Excellent communication skills with business leaders and cross‑departmental representatives.
• Experience managing projects of any type (IT and non‑IT) with international components, including large projects (12‑18 months) with multiple cross‑department ties.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, conflicting priorities, and schedules simultaneously while meeting all deadlines.
• Strong customer‑service orientation, sense of urgency, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Capacity to take direction from multiple individuals and remain self‑directed.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated best practices in professional relationships.
• Independent judgment and critical thinking capabilities.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 0‑10% if required for project success.

• PMP Certification.
• Active involvement in the PM community locally and nationally (PMI, regional PM groups, etc.).
• Experience mentoring project managers.

Potential salary range: $100,000 - $145,000 per annum. Final offer will depend on location, experience, and skills.
