The Network Engineer role is responsible for the planning, design, engineering, testing and implementation phases of IT projects to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Patterson's information assets and systems. The role often provides IT consultation on both infrastructure and IT projects and serves as an expert in the maintenance and remediation of IT platform issues.
Essential Functions- Accountable for the design, implementation, deployment, integration and initial engineering of IT solutions and enhancements within the assigned technology area.
- Facilitate the establishment of baselines to monitor systems and applications for IT related issues; proactively monitor to identify potential issues and consult on resolutions.
- Provide guidance, and contribute to the creation of standards, processes, and procedures; identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Assist with the resolution of escalated alerts, service requests, and incidents; may assist team with prioritization based on impact of issue.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to prioritize IT risks, provide mitigation or remediation recommendations, and implement IT controls.
- Provide information to appropriate teams to ensure updated documentation and knowledge management within the assigned technology area.
- Comply with company and department policies and standards; performs other duties as assigned.
- Accountability for network optimization and performance tuning, security architecture and implementation, and standards compliance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
- 2 years of experience in network engineering or architecture, preferably in a large scale-hybrid environment.
- Experience with network equipment such as Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco.
- Experience with network virtualization technology such as SD‑WAN, VLAN, Azure VLAN.
- Strong customer service, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced multi‑user environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS.

Compensation range: $83,400.00 – $ (based on location, experience, and skills).
