Hospital Services Representative/ Driver
Summary:
This position assists in assuring adequate component inventory for internal and external customer needs. Assists in assuring compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers. Approximately 75% of the job is spent in hospital services department and 25% of the job is driving and delivering orders.
2nd shift:
Sun – Thursday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (with training Mon – Fri 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM for about 8 weeks)
- Performing and overseeing daily Hospital Service tasks (HSRD-1 tasks)
- Hospital Orders
- Consigning
- Shipping
- Packing
- Reconciliation
- Irradiation/modification
- Performing timely driving functions
- Delivering hospital Transfusion Services blood component orders
- Performing whole blood pick-ups from Collections Van/Mobiles/Fixed sites
- Performing sample pick-ups for Reference Lab, Donor Testing, and Nat Lab
- Customer Service – daily interactions with hospital customers; daily telephone communications with the hospital Transfusion Services for correct orders and component shipments
- Equipment Maintenance – maintain knowledge of departmental equipment operation, monitor and troubleshoot with Maintenance
- Maintains Hospital Services vehicles, department supplies, forms, and reports
- Maintains knowledge of federal regulations and industry standards for the storage, labeling, distribution and transport of blood components
Hourly rate: $20.05/hr (plus applicable shift differentials)

Qualifications- High school education or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and continuous movement in and out of vehicle
- Ability to work well with others and independently
- 2 years of driving and/or customer service experience
- Good driving record
- Good communication skills; both oral and written
- Ability to learn required computer functions and programs
- Attention to detail
