Position OverviewBehavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) monitor and assist adolescent clients in the residential milieu, lead activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting, and assist the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. BHTs play an integral role in the day‑to‑day function of the clients’ experience.
Schedule- Full Time 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Evening/Overnight
- Evening
Shifts:
2 pm–10:30 pm, 4 pm–12:30 am - Overnight
Shifts:
10 pm–6:30 am - Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
- Schedule is made a month at a time with a combination of both evening and overnight shifts
- Starting hourly range $18.00–$21.00
Final compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position.
How BHTs Empower Recovery- Partner with the multi‑disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions and supporting or assisting clients in programming
- Participate in therapeutic meals and snacks and provide support during structured outings and recreation
- Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed; report observations and document in charts
- Monitor and support bathroom use per client treatment direction; monitor and document exercise
- Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room‑checks
- Associate’s degree in a mental health–related field (e.g., mental or behavioral health, counseling, behavioral sciences) or
- A high school diploma and at least one year or 2,000 hours of direct patient care experience in a mental or behavioral health setting
- Entry‑level position; 6+ months of direct client care or milieu experience in a mental/behavioral health or healthcare setting, particularly with eating disorders, is preferred
- Completion of Preceptor Program preferred
- Valid driver’s license and authorized to drive (Residential or Inpatient sites)
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire (Residential or Inpatient sites)
- First Aid certification within 30 days of hire (Residential or Inpatient sites)
- CPI certification within 30 days of hire (Residential sites in North Carolina or Georgia)
- Washington State Department of Health Food Handler permit within 30 days of hire (Residential site in Washington)
