Overview
Life Development Resources provides Outpatient Mental Health Services out of our 2 locations:
Lakeville MN and Saint Paul MN. We are seeking Mental Health Practitioners to work in our DBT-based treatment for men who have sexually offended. Opportunities to work in our other programs are also available.
A Mental Health Practitioner is defined as:
- An Intern/Practicum student who is enrolled in a behavioral health graduate program in order to be knowledgeable and competent in the treatment of a variety of emotional disorders and is in need of completing an internship or practicum training position for their graduate degree; or
- A Clinical Trainee who is a graduate of a Masters program in a behavioral health related field who is working to accumulate licensure hours for one of the Minnesota Boards.
The Mental Health Practitioner is responsible for direct client care under supervision by a licensed mental health professional. This person will get the opportunity to develop a caseload of their own and will be providing in-office individual and group therapy within our Sexual Health Program. Opportunities to work in other programs may also be available.

- Awareness of their own strengths and limitations and the impact those strengths on client care
- Sensitivity to individual differences and to the possible effects of multicultural issues
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
- Experience working with males convicted of sexual offense
- Provide psychotherapy for clients in the Sexual Health Program
- Maintain confidentiality of client’s protected health information at all times
- Provide regular updates by phone or email Community Corrections
- Participate in individual and group supervision a minimum of 60 minutes per week
- Participate in monthly staff meeting and follow all LDR policies and procedures
- Earn a minimum of 20 CEUs every two years on topics necessary to do the assigned position
- Maintain clinical records in compliance with LDR policies and procedures, insurance carriers, Minnesota and Federal law and relevant ethical boards policies and regulatory standards
- Provide other functions as required or assigned for effective operations of the clinic
