As a Billing Specialist at Sagent, you will be responsible for facilitating timely and accurate billing by reviewing and processing all provider charges. This role ensures that services performed by providers are billed correctly, including verification of coding and insurance information. The Billing Specialist communicates with providers regarding missing or incorrect billing details and assists in rebilling claims to new insurance policies as necessary.

Responsibilities:
  • Process provider charges daily.
  • Confirm that claims are billed correctly.
  • Enter all charges by established deadlines - three per month.
  • Communicate billing information with providers, resolve inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Re-bill and re-enter claims as requested.
  • Reconcile Encounter Reports weekly to ensure all appointments are billed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; further education preferred.
  • Insurance billing experience a plus; mental health experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with insurance company guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
