Medical Laboratory Scientist

Regions Hospital Clinical Laboratory is currently seeking a self‑motivated, quality‑focused Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Lab Scientist at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals in our newly remodeled laboratory designed for ergonomics and workflow. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety.

Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network.

• Assist in the implementation of methodologies, participate in the training of new personnel and any student clinical rotations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for new personnel and students; serve as a charge tech to direct personnel.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

FTE: .5 (20 hrs. weekly), Day/Evening shift

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or another science‑related field. Advanced degree or training (Masters in Sciences or Clinical Specialty) may substitute for preferred certification.

• Successful completion of a clinical rotation in an approved program that qualifies for ASCP certification or equivalent.
• Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification with ASCP or equivalent agency.
