This specialized department provides attended diagnostic testing services related to respiration control, sleep staging, and esophageal pH recordings. Children’s Minnesota Hospitals has one of the only diagnostic sleep labs in the upper Midwest dedicated solely to pediatric care, with patients ranging from pre‑term infants to young adults with special needs. The sleep lab is nationally accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
PositionSummary
This position is comprised of a wide variety of important responsibilities regarding infant, pediatric, and young adult diagnostic testing, directly impacting patient care and focused on obtaining diagnoses and/or therapy options for referring physicians. The role interfaces closely with Sleep Disorder Providers, Sleep Psychology, nursing staff, patients and families, and others both inside and outside the hospital.
Responsibilities- Polysomnograms (inpatient and outpatient)
- CPAP/BiLevel titrations
- Oxygen titrations
- Seizure montages
- Impedance pH testing
- Home sleep testing (HST) education and set up
- EKGs (inpatient and outpatient)
- Scoring 4‑channel studies for both inpatient and outpatient cases
- Sleep lab tours
- Multiple sleep latency testing
- Cross‑campus collaboration as needed
- License/Certification/Registration: Current BLS certification required; RPSGT obtained within 2 years of employment
- Education: Graduate of an accredited sleep technology school or hold a qualifying allied‑health credential approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). Preferred credentials include RT, RN, EMT, EEG.
- Experience: Pediatric experience preferred.
The posted salary represents a competitive market range based on salary survey benchmark data. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions requiring night, weekend, or on‑call work may qualify for shift differentials or premium pay.
