Aboutthe Role
We’re seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Tax Advisory & Compliance to lead our Tax Group and elevate the tax strategy for our sophisticated high‑net‑worth client base. This is a high‑impact leadership role where you’ll guide a talented team, serve as a trusted advisor, and shape the future of FCI’s integrated tax and planning services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction for the Tax Group across St. Paul and Tacoma.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client matters and complex tax issues.
- Partner with leaders across departments to deliver integrated client planning.
- Act as a career advisor and mentor to Tax Group team members.
- Review complex individual, trust, estate, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, gift, and foundation tax returns.
- Provide analytical, research‑based guidance to preparers and reviewers.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law developments.
- Recommend tax software, tools, and workflow improvements.
- Oversee tax planning, compliance workflow, and file review processes.
- Train and support the Tax Group to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Communicate with clients, staff, outside advisors, and tax authorities.
- Represent client interests during audits and tax authority communications.
- Develop budgets, resource plans, and manage vendor/consultant relationships.

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field (required).
- Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MBT, JD, LLM).
- 8+ years of public accounting, legal, or equivalent tax experience.
- 5+ years of management/leadership experience.
- CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Licensed Attorney (required).
- Proficiency with tax compliance software and tax research tools.
