- General Accounting Operations — Oversee and maintain the general ledger; provide hands‑on support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing, and tax filings to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Grant Accounting & Reporting — Manage grant financial tracking and compliance; prepare and submit precise financial reports, invoices, reimbursement requests, and drawdown documentation in accordance with funder guidelines and deadlines.
- Budgeting & Financial Planning — Contribute to annual budget development, monitor cash flow and budget‑to‑actual performance, and assist with long‑term financial planning and scenario analysis.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management — Help design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to protect assets, prevent fraud, and reduce financial risks.
- Team Support & Leadership — Mentor and guide junior accounting staff; review entries, provide training on procedures, and foster a collaborative, high‑performing team environment.
- Process Improvement & Reconciliations — Lead complex reconciliations (bank, grants, intercompany, etc.); identify inefficiencies and drive continuous process improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and scalability.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), financial regulations, and grant compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field. - Experience
: 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated expertise in advanced/general ledger accounting; prior supervisory or mentoring experience strongly preferred. Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), nonprofit, or grant‑funded organization is highly desirable. - Certifications
