Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting & Finance

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and enhance our financial operations in South St. Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial processes, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiencies. This position requires strong leadership skills and expertise in accounting practices to support organizational growth.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare comprehensive and accurate financial statements in adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.

- Conduct detailed account reconciliations and manage complex journal entries to ensure precise financial records.

- Develop and implement strategic financial policies and procedures that support business objectives and mitigate risks.

- Lead and mentor a small team of finance professionals, fostering growth and ensuring high performance.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards to minimize financial and operational risks.

- Manage daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable processes, improving overall efficiency.

- Monitor and reconcile the general ledger, facilitating smooth month-end and year-end closing activities.

- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial processes, enhancing operational effectiveness. Requirements - Proven experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes.

- Expertise in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead finance teams.

- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and risk management practices.

- Advanced skills in journal entry preparation and cash account reconciliation.

- Ability to identify and implement process improvements using accounting tools.
