The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced, highly capable Sr. Financial Analyst to support responsibilities with Abbott's Enterprise Accounts commercial team and Digital Solutions team onsite in either our Santa Clara, CA or St. Paul, MN locations. This position is a key role within the Medical Device Division’s FP&A team that partners with various levels of leadership to drive financial ownership, financial discipline, and business excellence.

You will be responsible for complex financial planning, analyses, and reporting for the business.

What You’ll Work On
  • Prepare financial analyses and reports to support the Annual Plan and Latest Best Estimate (LBE) quarterly forecast process
  • Partner with Commercial and Functional teams to analyze sales and P&L performance versus various financial benchmarks.
  • Support the month-end close process and reporting of monthly financial performance metrics.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and variance analysis to support financial decision making.
  • Execute compensation planning and performance measurement.
  • Support Cross-business unit deal planning and financial modeling.
  • Develop flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support the consolidation and timely completion of corporate schedules as well as develop system solutions and process improvements that meet the needs of the financial planning and/or reporting requirements.
  • Maintain effective and efficient planning process for the departments supported, including the coordination of a planning calendar with key dates and deliverables.
  • Perform ad hoc requests and drive cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support.
  • Key liaison between Medical Device Division FP&A, Enterprise Accounts leadership, and functional commercial leaders in Medical Device Business Units.
Required Qualifications
  • BA / BS Accounting or Finance or related field
  • 3+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or advanced education degree is preferred
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel (e.g., Pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Proficiency with Power Point
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new software systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to articulate financial results based on audience
  • Self-starter and can work independently
  • Highly structured and organized with strict adherence to deadlines
