This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul, Minnesota and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor. The incumbent will be required to occasionally attend in‑person meetings and events as needed.
The purpose of this position is to ensure that all Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) activities associated with the delivery and construction of MnDOT's Trunk Highway Program comply with the Public Rights‑of‑Way Accessibility Guidelines (PROWAG) and MnDOT standards. Additionally, this position will support the implementation of MnDOT's Accessibility Program across the department and provide statewide assistance to districts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications- Three (3) years of para‑professional engineering experience (e.g., Engineering Specialist) demonstrates the following:
- Experience implementing Public Rights‑of‑Way Accessibility Guidelines and standards.
- Experience in the construction and contract administration of accessible pedestrian roadway facilities including curb ramps, sidewalks, and accessible pedestrian signals.
- Experience with roadway construction and contract administration practices and procedures sufficient to interpret, understand and apply engineering plans, specifications and special provisions.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Valid Class D Driver's License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use wrists, hands, and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is also required to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Technical – Field:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to work outside exposed to weather elements (both cold and hot). The employee will frequently drive a motor vehicle. Periodically, the employee will walk on even and uneven or sloping ground. The employee may work in high‑volume traffic zones in day and night‑time conditions. The employee must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment to protect the head, eyes, hearing, respiration, visibility, and feet from injury as needed.
