Manufacturing Engineer Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on the production of cardiorespiratory devices. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing engineering group within a progressive company.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Collaborate with product design teams to ensure manufacturability and support design transfers from R&D to production.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process documentation, and control plans.
- Specify and procure production equipment, tooling, and fixtures; manage validation and commissioning.
- Analyze manufacturing performance metrics such as yield, scrap, and downtime, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for resolving complex manufacturing issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations as well as quality standards.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving for production failures using tools like 5-Whys, Fishbone, and FMEA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with demonstrated leadership in process improvement or project management.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works and AutoCAD, and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP or Oracle and PLM systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in fixture design is a nice-to-have.
The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings, with a preference for onsite presence every day. The dress code is casual.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ - $/yr.
