Systems Engineering PM

Our client, a global technology and engineering company is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join their team. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be part of the R&D / New Platform Development Department supporting cross‑functional engineering, marketing, medical affairs, and user experience teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical leadership, hands‑on problem‑solving ability, and excellent cross‑functional communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer

Location: Shoreview, MN (On‑site)

Pay Range: $85.67 – $96.15 per hour

• Lead system architecture, design, and development of electromechanical medical devices from concept through commercialization and post‑market support
• Architect, prototype, test, and release to production single‑use disposable devices and console systems for ablation procedures
• Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, and UX teams to define user needs, system requirements, and design inputs through formative and preclinical studies
• Select, evaluate, and integrate critical mechanical, electrical, and software components across complex systems
• Serve as a hands‑on technical leader, supporting mechanical, electrical, and software teams while working independently without reliance on test engineers or technicians

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• 12+ years of experience in electromechanical system design and new product development, preferably in medical devices
• Proven experience with system architecture, requirements management, and V&V for Class II medical devices
• Hands‑on experience using tools such as JAMA (requirements), Altium (electrical design), and Solid Works (mechanical design)
• Strong background in software‑driven electromechanical systems; experience with ablation devices and single‑use disposables is a strong plus
