• Analyze how a machine will function and create functional specifications.
• Design electrical systems for customer machines.
• Select appropriate electronic component parts.
• Develop and draw schematics and other required documentation.
• Be self‑motivated to adjust schedule to meet design and release deadlines.
• Collaborate with controls programmers to meet required functions in accordance with machine specifications.
• Assist service and assembly departments with electrical debugging of machines being put together on the floor and occasionally in the field at a customer location.
• Report machine or plant safety concerns to the department manager.
• Document electrical standards for panel construction and machine assembly.
• Assist in writing service/operating manuals for machines.
• Assist on research and development of new products.
• Assist controls programmers with software programs to test new product ideas.
• Assist the Service Department in troubleshooting machines in the field via telephone or while on‑site at the customer’s facility.
• Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Four‑year degree in Electrical Engineering; alternatively a two‑year technical degree with five years of experience in electrical control systems.
• Experience and/or familiarity with Solid Works preferred.
• AutoCAD experience.

Technical Skills & Abilities

• Can read, understand, analyze, and problem‑solve electrical drawings and related engineering software programs.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A.
• Knowledge of mechatronics, machine control sensing, and sizing of servos.
• Able to use standard computer programs for work processing including Microsoft Office.
• Can assist assembly personnel and coworkers on machine function or design.

• Works well with a variety of people and personalities, and with other Delkor departments.

Physical Requirements

• Sit at a desk or in meetings for extended periods, including extensive computer tasks.
• Be on-site at Delkor 80% of the regular work week.

Work Environment

• Majority of duties performed in an office setting.
• 20‑30% performed on an assembly floor or at customer sites with exposure to tools, dirt, dust, chemicals, metals and plastics, varying temperatures, noises and odors.
• Estimated 10% travel to customer sites.

Tools and Equipment

• General office equipment such as computer, printer, telephone, fax machine, copiers, e‑mail, calculator, etc.
• Basic hand tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdriver, voltmeter.

$76,500 - $90,000 per year. Includes comprehensive Total Rewards package with health, dental, vision coverage, 401(k), paid time off, life and disability insurance, and additional voluntary benefits.
