Description

Campus Security Specialist

8 hrs./day - student contact days

Job Summary
  • Building supervision and security engagement.
  • Respond effectively and respectfully to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborate and communicate with administration, office staff, School Resource Officer as needed to maintain secure building entrance.
  • After school student supervision and building security.
  • Respond to varied dynamic, urgent incidents and make critical decisions in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 25-50 lbs.
  • Monitor student parking lot and make accurate records related to student parking.
  • Evening supervision opportunities may be available for additional compensation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Professional and excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
  • Accurate, strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to observe confidentiality requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in building rapport with students, staff and public.
  • Effective team skills; ability to work in a high energy, fast paced environment and time management.
  • Skills in problem solving, conflict resolution and critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated success with (and/or willingness and ability to learn) the use of technology to support office functions including skills with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Infinite Campus, security camera software and Lobby Guard.
  • High school diploma, some college preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
Compensation / Benefits

Non-Licensed Specialist - Salary is $29,553 (2025-26 school year), based on 171 days @ 8 hrs./day

If benefit eligible, benefits are available to new employees effective the first day of active employment. Benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, long term disability insurance, sick-leave, state pension plan, tax-deferred retirement savings account, and flexible spending account.
