Job Summary- Administer, score, and interpret intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior, and other norm‑referenced instruments and provide both written and oral reports to parents, students, and professionals.
- Administer and interpret informal assessments including parent, teacher, and student interviews, observations in the classroom and other settings to support results from formal assessment.
- Participate in a multi‑disciplinary team to identify students with disabilities ages birth through 21, including EL students.
- Provide consultation to staff and parents for improving students' behavior and academic success through interventions, observations, and classroom strategies.
- Work with a collaborative team to develop interventions and implement strategies for improving students' academics and behavior including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in the classroom and other school settings using practices that align with the district's MTSS framework.
- Support the implementation of culturally responsive practices that lead to equitable outcomes for all students, particularly those groups of students that are over‑represented in special education.
- Conduct trainings for district staff on aspects of problem solving including data collection and analysis, cultural competence in assessment, mental health, basic psychological processes and positive behavioral support.
- Assist school staff with due process procedures including eligibility requirements, parent rights, and record keeping.
- Assist in school district projects or special activities that require consultation and/or direct services of a school psychologist.
- Travel in the district and adapt to a changing work environment with a positive attitude and problem solving approach.
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
- Maintain current knowledge of various forms of assistive technology to support students in accessing the appropriate tools for efficiency.
- Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents by establishing a culture of respect.
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Master's degree in School Psychology.
- Licensed or Eligible for licensure by the Minnesota Department of Education as a School Psychologist.
- Experience working with and providing service to persons of diverse cultures, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate well in both written and oral formats.
- Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.
- Experience working in a school setting or with children ages birth through 21.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
