About St. Paul Academy and Summit SchoolSt. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in Prekindergarten through grade 12. Our three campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our Goodrich Campus serves students in grades K-5, and our Randolph Campus serves students in grades 6-12. Our Prekindergarten is located on the campus of St.
Catherine’s University and serves children beginning at age 4. The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

About the Lower SchoolWhen you walk through the front doors of our Lower School, you’ll immediately feel just how special a place this is for students in Kindergarten through Grade
5. From the welcoming Living Room just inside the front door (often warmed by a cozy fire in the fireplace), to the bright and spacious classrooms and hallways adorned with student artwork, to the five acres of open green space just outside our back door, the Lower School is designed around the academic, social, and emotional needs of young children. Salary Range$48,000 - $68,000

Candidates should have experience teaching Lower School students in Early Elementary grades (1st/2nd). Candidates should possess the ability to teach the full range of homeroom content areas including literacy, mathematics, and social studies. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, establish a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for students, and work collaboratively with a teaching partner, various colleagues, and parents/guardians.
Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with knowledge regarding best instructional practices in language arts, social studies, and mathematics. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with Responsive Classroom, Primary Math or Singapore math methods, Wilson Fundations, Readers/Writers Workshop, and Fastbridge assessments.
