OVERVIEW

The Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing (SON) in the Morrison Family College of Health at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a tenure-track associate professor position. We seek applicants who are committed to teaching excellence, both within a traditional BSN and accelerated pre-licensure MSN program. The successful applicant will teach a range of nursing courses and current needs prioritize subject matter expertise in pathophysiology, pharmacology, acute and chronic care, and health assessment.

In addition, applicants will provide academic advising to students and participate in service activities in the school, college, and university. The standard teaching load for this position is six courses in an academic year. The successful applicant will have an active research agenda, and all areas of nursing research/scholarship will be considered. We seek candidates who are committed to fostering inclusive learning environments, interested in working as part of an interprofessional team, and eager to engage students in their scholarly agenda in meaningful ways.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications for Associate Professor:

  • PhD (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent) in Nursing or closely related field, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) (U.S. or Foreign Equivalent).
  • Alternatively, a candidate with an EdD, PhD in an area unrelated to Nursing is acceptable if the candidate holds a bachelor's or master/s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Nursing.
