Overview
Position: Culture and Climate Specialist
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day and 260 days per school year
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: Competitive - DOQ

Primary Objective: The Culture and Climate Specialist will embrace personal and collective responsibility for creating and sustaining affirming, inclusive school and work environments. This position will encourage mindful, compassionate communication. The Culture and Climate Specialist will be responsible for developing professional development and other initiatives to create and foster an equitable and inclusive environment for all student, staff and caregivers.
Responsibilities- Provides leadership, training, consultation and support to administrators
- Delivers professional development to school administrators, teachers ,and school teams
- Works with building principals/leaders in the implementation of aligned SEL curriculum, restorative practices, positive culture and climate, and inclusion strategies
- Reviews current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support the district goals
- Coordinates staff and student affinity groups to support a more inclusive environment
- Facilitates community circles, restorative practices in schools, restorative chats and repairing harm circles
- Leads programs and events that are part of the Achievement & Integration funding stream
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal laws and District policies
- Analyzing attendance, behavior, and climate data
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor 's degree in the education field or related field
- At least three years of professional work experience with SEL, restorative practices, and equity
- Experience facilitating professional development and coaching to school administrators, teachers ,and school teams
- Experience working with students pre-K-12 with specialized support potentially inclusive of Multilingual Learners, Special Education and racially/economically diverse settings
- Effective interpersonal communication, organization, and technology skills
- Strong project management abilities and leadership experience
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Master's degree in education and/or related field
- Enrolled in licensed K-12 principal or school administrator in Minnesota
- Proven experience creating and maintaining strong relationships working in partnership with diverse special interest groups
- Proficient with instructional technology
