Independent School District 624 announces a vacancy for a Full Time, 2nd Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher for May to June 2026. This position is expected to last 6 weeks. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction and classroom leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment aligned with the school's mission and instructional goals.

The role requires collaboration with staff, adaptability to student needs, and a commitment to both academic and social-emotional growth. This position works under the limited supervision of the Principal and may occasionally oversee paraprofessionals or volunteers.

• Provide effective instruction that meets the diverse needs and abilities of all learners.
• Implement engaging lessons using a variety of teaching methods and materials to support student understanding and growth.
• Support students in developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for future academic success.
• Demonstrate global competence by connecting classroom content to local and global issues, helping students understand the impact of their learning beyond the classroom.
• Foster a classroom culture of problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
• Prioritize the physical, social, and emotional well-being of students, recognizing the integral connection between social-emotional learning and academic achievement.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
• Show a strong sense of self‑efficacy, holding high expectations for both student outcomes and professional responsibility.
• Maintain a flexible and energetic attitude, contributing to a supportive and collegial team environment.

• Valid teaching license (or substitute license) required.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.

MN Teaching License K‑6 or 1‑6 Elementary Education required.

Minnesota Teaching License required.
