  • Hours:

    3.75 hrs./day, 10‑month calendar
  • Schedule:

    10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Effective Date of Employment: ASAP

Qualifications
  • High School diploma AND two years of college OR Associate’s degree OR MN passing score on the Para Educator test.
  • Effective behavior management and health support skills, able to maintain routine in a student’s day.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for interactions with staff, students, and parents.
  • Experience working in a center‑based and inclusion setting.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions, which may include toileting, catheters, lifting, medication administration, gastric tube feedings, health tasks to support student, pool, DAPE, and working outside.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socio‑economically diverse school community is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in communication with staff, parents, and students.
  • Assist teacher/nurse in collecting and maintaining data.
  • Implement intervention strategies developed by licensed staff.
  • Execute behavior intervention plans.
  • Apply health plans.
  • Assist with crisis interventions and discipline.
  • Use effective sensory activities.
  • Instruct individual students following programs designed by lead teacher.
  • Assist with independent study.
  • Reinforce lessons with small groups of students.
  • Work outdoors with students and staff in varying weather conditions.

Compensation

Step 1 – $21.32/hour

Step 2 – $22.62/hour

Step 3 – $23.91/hour

Employees receive a $1.00 per hour differential in addition to the hourly base rate.
