Job Title: Paraprofessional / Education Assistant

Supervisor: Academic Director

Job Summary: Assist students in the general classroom.

Days/Year: Student contact days / 8 hours a day

Level: Education Assistant - Level I to Level III (determined based on education and experience)

Position

Purpose:

To provide assistance with specific learner populations or a more focused role with individual learners; provide support in classrooms under the direction of licensed staff.

• Assist licensed teacher (to be assigned) with day-to-day instruction of students, both individually and in small groups.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Supervise lunchroom and/or playground activities.

• 60 credits or completion of Para Pro Assessment.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children in a structured setting.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse and "at-risk" students individually and in small work groups.
