About the Job

The University of Minnesota, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery welcomes applications for a full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor on the academic or clinician track (rank to be determined by qualification and career stage). Candidates who are appropriately advanced in career will be considered for an existing exempted professorship.

Practice: This individual will join a busy clinical practice which will be supported by an excellent audiology team, an NIH‑funded Otopathology Laboratory and prominent basic science colleagues.

Candidates will be oculted to build a full-time practice in neurotology. This will include collaboration with members of the Department of Neurosurgery through multi‑disciplinary outpatient clinics and operative time for the management of lateral skull base lesions. The individual will provide clinical services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center/M Health. Candidates with a strong commitment to developing a clinical research program are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency program.
  • Completion of a Neurotology fellowship or equivalent.
  • American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery eligible or certified.
  • Neurotology subspecialty board eligible or certified.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching residents, medical students and fellows.
  • Desire to work collaboratively with other specialties.
  • Enhancing the knowledge foundation of the specialty through regular engagement in clinical and/or basic science research.
  • Professionalism manifested by pro‑bono work and commitment to specially societies.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice licensure.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of Visa category while in the United States.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
  • Understands and places importance on patient care/service.
